Google No Country Redirect

Gentlemen:

You had this search engine. For the last three weeks I been trying to find it, seems that you had removed from your files.
Now only find a lot of google related search engines except the only one I want.
Want to suggest to add once more the google no country redirect search engine

No longer any need

Apologies for the confusion.
Google seem to have changed their redirecting so this is no longer needed.
The 'standard' plugin at the top of:
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/google-search-plugins.html
should now do the job.

(If this has changed again, please do let me know)

It redirects.. And the icon

It redirects..

And the icon looks awful..

Please? Could someone make a plugin for google, with no country redirect?

I am from Norway, and now I have to use 2 search engines, where I only had to use 1 before this got fubar'ed..

Seems to work for me still...

And the icon is the Google standard?
Which plugins are you using - may need to delete and reinstall.

If it's really not working for you (though I can't see why it would be okay in the UK and not in Norway) I'll happily reinstate the old version but it tends to cause confusion that I'd prefer to avoid.

It doesn't work

Hi!

You have to go to main Google page and select Google.com below. After that it will redirect no more.

You might need cookies enabled

I think that you need to have cookies enabled, or Google will redirect you again each time you go to the site.
Alternatively you could go to http://www.google.com/webhp instead. I'm not sure if this is the URL used in the 'standard' plugin.
As for the icon, it's not a big deal but some people might like the capital 'G' icon more than the small 'g' icon.

I also found the "no country

I also found the "no country redirect" search plugin very useful, I am quite disappointed you have removed it. Luckily I have saved it and I can install it by copying it in my firefox profile directory.

I wonder what confusion tended to cause its presence.

Restore NCR please

Yes I'd love this feature to be restored. It is very irritating to have to click through from google.ca every time I want the world results.

Here it is then...

Well I don't entirely understand why this works for me but not for others...
Anyway, old - definitely non-redirecting - plugin restored:
http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-engines.html?name=google+(no+country+redirect)

(As far as icons... I'm going to just follow Google - I realise not everyone will like that but I'm not going to allow duplicates for it)

Stop redirect to google country

- Enable cookies
- Click the link google home at the bottom or use this link http://www.google.com/webhp

After you enable Cookies,

After you enable Cookies, you also want to make sure your browswer isnt set to automatically delete cookies upon closing the application.

Found a working solution

I found a blog post (http://dharshin.co.cc/tweaks-and-hacks/how-to-change-google-country-redirect-in-firefox) on changing Google country redirection by editing Firefox's XML file.

It worked for me

Redirecting based on ip

Redirecting based on ip address is plain braindead. Why the hell should someone on their travels be presented with a UI they don't understand? Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
