This dictionary is one of the best on-line Chinese dictionaries, provided by the Taiwan government. I use it in my research daily, and recommended it to all of my colleagues, esp. via the searchbar option, until the site was updated and moved. Now it's complete, and available here, but there's no serachbar application (and I don't know how to make them).
